Amid horns and exhaust, ballet dancers leap and twirl among Mexico City traffi

Ballet dancers livened up heavy traffic in Mexico City on Saturday (July 28) by twirling and leaping among vehicles stopped at red lights.

The theatre company Ardentia has introduced a program aimed at bringing classical ballet to the streets in 58-second spurts to correspond with the length of a Mexico City traffic light.
Street performances began two weeks ago and are delighting the drivers and pedestrians who pause to watch.
Resident Daniel Campos Garcia said it’s “like a dream”.
The initiative was inspired by photographer Oscar Rodriguez, who took pictures of dancers in the streets.
