Priyanka Chopra wows fans at “The Sky is Pink” premiere

Actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar greeted fans and posed for photographs.

Directed by Indian filmmaker Shonali Bose, “The Sky is Pink” is based on a true story of romance and heartbreaking family tragedy.

The Hindi-language film tells the story of 25 years in the relationship of the Chaudharys, Aditi (Chopra Jonas) and her husband Niren (Akhtar), from the perspective of their recently deceased teenage daughter, Aisha, played by Wasim.

The young Indian actress won best supporting actress at The National Film Awards, India in 2017 for her portrayal of Aamir Khan’s wrestling daughter, Geeta in “Dangal”.

Chopra Jonas married Jonas Brother, Nick Jonas in an extravagant three-day affair in India in December last year. A household name in the country, she is also known for playing the villain in “Baywatch” in 2017, opposite Hollywood’s Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

Bose is known for the award-winning “Margarita with a Straw” (2014) and “Amu” (2005) which have been previously screened at TIFF.

“The Sky is Pink” is set for general release on October 11 in India and the United States.
