Powerful storm sweeps across northern U.S. plains bringing snow, high winds

Video captured by farmer Jordan Gackle showed the blizzard whipping through the city of Kulm in North Dakota on Saturday (October 12).

The system produced up to 3 feet (91 cm) of snow in some parts of North Dakota on Sunday morning (October 13), the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The heavy, wet snow was accompanied by sleet and ice, making road travel treacherous if not impossible in some areas, the weather service said.
