New Jersey has 1,003 coronavirus deaths

As the coronavirus pandemic’s U.S. death toll topped 10,000 people, New Jersey’s Governor Phil Murphy announced on Monday (April 6) a single day increase of 3,663 confirmed cases in the state.

“Since yesterday, we have received another 3,663 positive test results. That brings the statewide total to 41,090,” said Murphy during a news conference from Newark, New Jersey.

Murphy also reported 86 news deaths from the disease, bringing the statewide total to 1,003.

New Jersey ranks second in the nation with coronoavirus cases behind New York.
