HOUSTON – A man had been pronounced dead after an officer-involved shooting in Southeast Houston.
According to police, the incident happened early Monday morning just after 1:00 a.m on Capridge Drive. Three officers responded to the scene about an emotionally disturbed and heavily intoxicated male carrying a gun.
Police gave the male multiple commands to drop his weapon, instead, he refused and shot a few rounds into the ground, before pointing in the direction of officers.
The man was shot by officers, killing him. The family of the male was on the scene as well during the shooting.
No further details were provided on whether or not the family members made the call or were just there to attempt to de-escalate the situation.
