Cuomo refuses to predict when New York City can reopen

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday (May 25) would not predict when New York City would reopen telling a news conference “I’m out of that business because we all failed at that business.”

On Friday Cuomo announced that two New York state regions adjacent to New York City could begin reopening businesses next week so long as deaths from the new coronavirus continue to decline and a contact tracing program is up and running.

Cuomo also called on people to wear masks. “Why you wouldn’t use it, there’s no legitimate rational explanation,” he said. My colleague, Melissa DeRosa said yesterday it was stupid. That’s another way of saying not smart,” he said.
