One arrested after a car chase and crash

HOUSTON –  A suspect was arrested Sunday after crashing near Katy Freeway.

Police say the man failed to pull over during a standard traffic stop near Crosstimbers Street around 10:30 p.m.

The suspect led officials southbound on I-45 before exiting near the downtown area. He then got back onto I-45 and headed northbound before going westbound on I-10.

The driver eventually crashed into another vehicle underneath the freeway on Bingle Road. He was arrested at the scene.

A woman and her child were in the other vehicle, they were reported okay.

Police are investigating why the driver led them on a chase.
